PRESS RELEASE:
9th May, 2016; Georgetown: Head Coach of the Men’s National Team (Golden Jaguars), Jamaal Shabazz has announced a provisional list to face the Canada Olympic Team on May 15, 2016 at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.
The squad consists of 25 players including six over-seas based namely; Pernell Schultz (Trinidad and Tobago), Mustafa Haqq (Barbados), Anthony Whyte and Daniel Whyte (Canada) and Ishankie Charles and Marcel Barrington (England). (See below a complete breakdown of the squad)
Sunday’s event will see a preliminary showdown between the Digicel’s Inter-Secondary School Football Competition Champion Christiansburg/Wismar Secondary vs the Milo Secondary School Under-20 champion, Chase Academy. This match will begin at 16:00hrs. The feature game, Golden Jaguars vs Canada Olympic team is set for 19:00hrs.
Encampment for the Golden Jaguars team will be from the 10th, when they will have their first training session and will end on the 16th May. (See below training schedule).
For game day, regular tickets are being sold at $1,000, VIP tickets at $5,000 and booths are being sold at $80,000. Booth cost include the ability to have a maximum of twenty (20) persons, six (6) car passes and food and drinks being brought to the ground.
Meanwhile, the Canadians are expected on Friday, 13th May, 2016 and have released an eighteen-man squad. (Please see complete squad below)
