The Guyana Defence Force won the 2017 Stag Elite League Leaders Tournament on Sunday, 12th March at the GDF ground in Georgetown, beating Fruta Conquerors 2-0 in a thrilling, fast-paced contest that ended with a flourish.
In a rain-drenched match, Olvis Mitchell opened the scoring for the GDF in the 86th minute and Delroy Fraser wrapped up the victory in injury time with a stunning curling strike after cutting inside from the left wing.
